The Snowdon Challenge 2010!

Well, despite the wind and the risk of snow, The Snowdon Challenge 2010 took place on Saturday 8th May and proved to be a success once again! 40 people, young and old, climbed up and down Mount Snowdon and raised an estimated £3000+ to support and further the work of Active Hope. We would like to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to all those who took part. Your hard work and efforts really paid off! We would also like to remind the participants to send your sponsor money in asap if you haven't done so already!

Please keep your eyes on the Active Hope website as details of our next fundraising event will be coming soon!

The Expanded Team.

As many of you already know, Ric Murawski had to resign from the Active Hope staff team a few months ago due to personal circumstances. However, we are delighted to announce that Jamie Lucas and Lynsey Atheron have been appointed as official Active Hope staff members! Jamie is our new full time Instructor and joined the staff team several weeks ago and Lynsey will be joining us in September for 3 days a week as a Trainee Instructor and Office Manager. We are really excited about this new team and are excited to see what God has in store for us!

Trainee Instructor Program.

Believe it or not we are coming to the end of our Trainee Instructor Program at Boteler High school. The boys have worked extremely hard and we have thoroughly enjoyed working with them. They will soon be getting the opportunity to help out on some of our residential trips as part of the T.I.P course. We have also started the Trainee Instructor Program in Woolston High School and we have seen a very positive start from the boys!

The Joint Residential Was A Huge Success!

From the 17th - 21st May 2010, Active Hope ran their first Joint Residential week for children from Brook Acre Primary School, Padgate and St. Matthew's Primary School, Stretton. The 50 children who took part had a fantastic week away and it had a massive impact on their lives. They visited local attractions, took part in outdoor and adventurous activities and had lots of fun!

The Adventure Academy Weekend Away.

As you know, Adventure Academy has grown significantly this year and on Saturday 29th May, we took over 50 children from 12 primary schools in Warrington to Pensarn Harbour, Barmouth for a fantastic, fun-filled weekend away. The children had a fabulous time and it was a joy to see them enjoying themselves and taking part in activities that some of them had never experienced before. They loved every minute of if and so did the staff and volunteers!

Great News.

We have been successful in two grant applications for equipment. One for a small set of children's Mountain Bikes which we hope to take delivery of soon. The other has enabled us to purchase some basic Archery equipment, all of which will make a huge differenece to our work this year.
