Outdoor and Adventurous activities give children the opportunity to access a range of new experiences.

Ofsted were commissioned to "evaluate the unique contribution made by Outdoor Education to enhancing young people's personal and social development".

From that evaluation, ten high quality Outcomes and Themes were identified (Source-Outdoor advisors panel) These are the core of Active Hope?s work with Outdoor Activities with young people. The ten High Quality Outcomes are:

  • Enjoyment
  • Confidence
  • Social Awareness
  • Environmental Awareness
  • Activity Skills
  • Personal Qualities
  • Key Skills
  • Health and Fitness
  • Increased motivation and appetite for learning
  • Broadened horizons.

The Government released its latest education manifesto entitled Learning Outside the Classroom in late spring 2006. Active Hope's work falls within this ethos of education and fully supports the aims of the DFES on this issue. If you would like to read more on the learning outside the classroom manifesto you can access it through our useful links button.

Through the school year 2011 / 2012 we are proud to offer Primary Schools across Warrington access to our "Which Way Now" project. It uses Orienteering and team building activities to give children in KS2 some great fun and valuable new skills. For more details on the "Which Way Now" project click on the School Activities tab on the left of the screen.
